Tri Yoga: Yoga for Runners, Cyclists, and Swimmers
Up to PH3
Hey guys--a friend of mine is teaching this class on Sept. 10--thought some of you ladies might be interested!
If you are a runner, cyclist, or swimmer, then Tri Yoga!
Tri Yoga: Yoga for Runners, Cyclists, and Swimmers
This two-hour workshop demonstrates how a yoga practice can address common physical imbalances that runners, cyclists, and swimmers often experience as a result of repetitive motion in some muscles and joints and the disuse of other parts of the body and can complement the activities of a triathlete. A yoga practice can gre...atly increase flexibility, range of motion, and strength, enhance balance, improve lung capacity, and foster body awareness and mental stamina, which in turn may reduce the possibility of injury and enhance your overall performance. This workshop includes both discussion and a yoga practice designed to correct common imbalances that runners, cyclists, and swimmers may experience. We will also address postures that can be practiced as counterposes to the triathletic activities.
This workshop is taught by Melissa Katz, a yoga teacher and yoga therapist certified at the 500-hour level, a casual runner, and a former century-riding cyclist.
Time: Saturday, September 10, 2011, 3-5p
Location: Ladies Workout Express (a women-only gym) 2865 North Druid Hills Road, Atlanta, 30329
Cost: $20 members/$25 non-members
Pre-registration and pre-payment are required to reserve your space. See More
